I am pleased to announce the start of ParserComp 2025.
I am also very pleased to announce that Christopher Mariner is again a member of the ParserComp admin team. Christopher’s expertise and creativity are beyond compare. Welcome back!

Woohoo! This is great news. Welcome back @ChristopherMerriner. We missed you.
Thanks!
Thanks both for running this again.
Query about the game submission deadline: is it intended to be sometime on “Sunday 29 June 2025” (per the text), or “2025-06-30 17:00 UTC” (per the Itch countdown), which would give authors most of an extra day?
One date is calculated by Itch, the other was selected. We will go by the calculated date giving the authors more time. The calculated date wasn’t visible until ParserComp 2025 was published.
Thanks.
If I made a parser game and I was planning on entering the IFcomp, can I enter it in both contests?
No — works entered in IFComp must be previously unreleased.
No. The same rule applies to ParserComp and IFComp, i.e. it must be previously unreleased. The only exception is that a finished version of a game entered in IntroComp is permitted in ParserComp. This is the same as in Text Adventure Literacy Jam.
That must be the sea-going version of Christopher Merriner, not the land lubber version.
@fos1 and @ChristopherMerriner don’t forget to make an announcement on the Discord server.
Ironically, I myself (@therealchristophermerriner) did actually live full time on a narrowboat for a number of years - while my nautically-monikered namesake, Christopher Mariner, could, for all I know, have spent his entire life in an apartment on the top floor of a high-rise (in Liechtenstein).
Thanks for the reminder about the Discord!
I posted an announcement on the Discord server. I need to verify the game dates on the IFWiki. (verified - ok)
