Below are three screenshots of me using this forum on mobile. In the first, I’ve gone to the home page.
Then, I tap the filter selection (for unread, new, latest, etc), and the screen darkens, presenting me with a selection menu.
I press the back button on my phone. Not only does the selection menu close but this sends me back to the page I was on before going to the home page to take screenshots.
It seems the selection menu doesn’t count as navigation history, which is really jarring when I’ve just opened the app, checked these selections, and then wanted to go to a specific thread. Tapping somewhere in the darkened zone isn’t super intuitive for me, and pressing the back button winds up closing my connection to the whole site.
Just wanted to post my feedback about this. The new selection menu is pretty cool, and I’m curious to know how it works with a screen reader, but it’d be nice if it counted as navigation too.
