But you can just comment instead, which may be the better alternative.
Figuratively it may be the better alternative, but practically, my ‘review’ was just typed into the comment box. In other words, there’s just a comment box, into which you can type (but not paste!) stuff, and the result can only be seen by mathbrush.

Hi, I love reading (no surprise) which makes me interested in this book. I am trying to read the chicago.epub from GitHub inside Apple Books and this is what I see.
In summary, when I go to any page in the book, I see nothing. I think I might vaguely see pale yellow text over a white background, possibly.
Okay, I was just able to test this. It might be a dark mode light mode thing. Here’s a screenshot of what happened when I downloaded it on iPhone with dark mode:
I was revisiting this book today and shred it with someone but it’s still kind of hard to share.
I was thinking of putting it on the Kindle Direct Platform so it can be locally printed and shipped or downloaded easily. My grant from IFTF says it will be free forever, so this wouldn’t replace any of the other current free downloads. I’d set the price as low as possible, which is I think $.99. It requires some specific art requirements and margin sizes but I think I should be able to take care of those (I made cover art for it before but I think I can do better now).
Do you all think it’s worth it? I imagine about 40 people worldwide making use of it, but it would be very convenient for those 40 people.
Even if it’s rarely used, I don’t see the harm in doing it!
Freudian slip? :-)
You could put it on Lulu. Hardly anyone would ever see it there, but it lets people buy a printed copy at cost or download a free copy.
Thanks for the catch lol
I didn’t know about Lulu, looks like it would be a great option. I’m going to look at submission requirements and start working on it.
Have a look at:
- Printed copy of Inform 7 Handbook available - #16 by Jonathan
- Working on a printable PDF version of the Inform 7 books - #9 by Jonathan
I’m not sure why neither’s offering the PDFs for download, but I’m pretty sure this is possible as I’ve seen it with other Lulu books.
I use my Kindles constantly. The ability to resize the font helps with my low vision.
I would enjoy a native Kindle version.
Thank you, Jeff
Not sure if this is the right place to say this, but I finished Learning from the Best of Text today and was blown away by the detailed and thoughtful analysis of IF fiction, events, and community. Mathbrush clearly has not only love for but a great understanding of the genre as an art form. I came away with a MUCH greater understanding of the community and a few dozen new IF rabbit holes to explore. I was expecting to maybe take a glance at it and then move on, but it was so engrossing that I completely lost track of time with it. Thank you!
Thanks, I really appreciate it!
