Perhaps this is a silly question, but I’ve been curious for some time about the meaning of the numbers that appear to the right of forum categories on the drop-down menu.
As an example, what does the “x 708” next to “Competitions” mean?
I’m assuming it means there are 708 posts in the “Competitions” category (not counting posts in sub-categories, I guess).
Post count was my first theory, but “Authoring x 71” didn’t seem like it could possibly be correct.
Seeing how the number next to “Site Feedback” has changed today, I think you’re right about subcategory posts being excluded. Thanks!
I think it’s counts for tags, rather than categories - and since Authoring is already a site category it makes sense the tag wouldn’t be used that frequently.
