I want to ask everyone for the meaning and reasons behind their forum avatar.
For example
- @rileypb What does BOSH mean?
- @alyshkalia Why a questionmark? Mysterious person? Puzzled by IF?
I want to ask everyone for the meaning and reasons behind their forum avatar.
For example
Tabitha’s avatar comes from the title card of Life of Puck (which is a curious little pet rat)
I am lazy, not especially visually-oriented, and the dumb screenname I’ve been using since I was 13 starts with a D.
I noticed the default avatars for the forum all looked the same (a single letter on a colored background), so I made my own version in italic font so that one day people would notice and say, ‘wait a minute…’
Mine is one I’ve been using everywhere(ish) for the last 3 years. It’s a succulent lineart I found on Canva while trying to make a banner for a game. It was a plant, it’s green. I like both these things. And it looks dope small or big.
The deus irae (=god of wrath) reminds of (a) dies irae and (b) Wrath of God from Mtg.
@manonamora I think I’m not as big a fan [edit: of plants] as you are, but I do love them.
My profile is usually art drawn by my collaborator, Callie. This current avi is from a proof-of-concept sketch for an unfinished game.
e: it is based on our cat, Moxie
Bureau of Strange Happenings, the name of my upcoming IFComp entry. “Bosh” also means “nonsense”.
It’s not related to your username (kami + neko = god + cat)?
That reminds me a bit of Ministry of Silly Walking!
All correct, but I was ripping off this:
Haha, I always think of that novel every time I see your user name.
I love cats! I have 16.92GB of kitten pictures on my cellphone. :3
I definitely DO tilt toward cat avatars, and prior to making my own content I tilted specifically to kamineko, the “biting cat” from manga/anime Azumanga Daioh. Which I believe involves a visual pun, but I don’t understand Kanji.
He is a bit of a villain…
It’s my persona, which I affectionately refer to as Little Guy. Specifically engineered so that I’ll have no trouble replicating the drawing under any circumstances. It vaguely resembles me and wears my favorite outfit, though it’s definitely way cuter.
It is the graphic for my multi-player choice IF game, Scribarchy. It is a stock photograph of a compass and old-timey map run through a charcoal filter (?). Scribarchy is a word I made up, which if a real word would mean “Where writers rule”.
A.k.a. realm of imagination.
it’s me! drawn by me!
Yep, this is correct! A friend drew this art of my boy Puck (RIP), with a question mark because of his curiosity.
Marie Laurencin is absolute a e s t h e t i c .
