My IFComp entry, “Caribbean Nightmare”, has now reached beta status. If you enjoy parser/multiple choice games with rather classical puzzles and a humorous plot, you’re probably the right person to join the closed beta.
The game can only be played in the browser. You can switch freely between typing, multiple choice or voice input. You can play it on every platform, including mobile platforms.
- The game can be played/tested in English and German
- It contains a very (!) context sensitive help for nearly every situation in the game
- The settings allow a fine adjustion of layout options: Choose between different color schemes, fonts, line lengths, multiple choice menu styles
- The game tells a very strange pirate story across four chaotic chapters. It’s hard to believe that all these weird people ended up on this island of all places.
- I would expect a playtime beyond 2h, if you don’t use the help too much.
If anyone’s interested in checking it out, send me a private message. By the way, no one expects you to play through the whole thing (although, of course, it’s a really fun game). I’d also appreciate transcripts from the beginning of the game or simply feedback on the UI.
