Looking for apha testers for an erotic fighter life sim game.
It’s an old school parser style IF… with a twist.
It’s about a girl who makes a living fighting other girls. She can also make friends (perhaps with benefits) outside of the fights, chill in her own cosy apartment, explore the city, confront some baddies, drink herself silly, fuck silly, or just have a bite and go to bed.
What I have in mind is a sandbox experience (within limits). You start knowing almost nothing about the game world around you, and slowly explore it by trial and error, hopefully having kinky fun along the way.
You can only control the PC with words, and the game is designed to try and make sense of almost anything you throw at it… well, almost xD.
For now it’s in early stages, more of a proof of concept than a game. And a real bitch to make too, so I’m in dire need of feedback to know if I should power on with it. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I’ll do my best to reward you with some nice content, if I can.
Did I pique your curiosity?.. You can contact me with a DM here, or write to blacktrifle@gmail.com
your problem sounds like the uncertainty of the central game mechanic;
the fighting bit sounds like RPG elements, then there’s the world sim, which is a task in itself, then there is the open-ended conversation bit (from the parser you can throw at), then there’s the erotic element.
my gut feeling is that if you try to accomplish all that, you’ll get a game that’s mediocre at each. And your target customer is unclear - are you making predominantly a fighting game, a sim game, a compelling story, or erotic content?
Maybe consider focusing on one of these and regard the others as secondary. Do the main one really well and the others won’t matter too much. In fact, radically simplify all elements that are not considered prime.
You’ve labeled this as Inform. So you would have to tackle any RPG features and also any open-ended parser features yourself. Or at least, these aren’t standard in the box.
Finally, if you’re planning to use AI for any of the important parts, that’s likely not to work.
Thanks, that’s a solid piece of advice actually.
The core element of the game would be the fighting (which might get strong erotic flavour depending on the choices made).
So that’s what I’ve been mainly focusing on. Doing a fighting game with a parser sounded like a fun challenge, so here we are
I really like the other content tho, and I don’t think of it as a problem per se.
I just need some help figuring out whether what I am doing is fun to play
