Local storage clears on mobile browsers, deleting saved games?

Safari has some problem with the way Itch handles local storage in iframes. See this recent thread:

Hello all, This isn’t an IF issue as much as a browser issue, but I thought other people must have solved this problem. I’ve started playing Emily Short’s Bee twice or thrice on my iPhone, using Brave and Safari browsers, but I keep losing my progress in between sessions. I understand that browsers have an autorefresh setting somewhere, but I am not sure whether this is the culprit and how I can fix this problem. Any ideas? Thanks!
