Interpreter statistics?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but are there any statistics about which interpreters players are using, e.g. intfiction members or during IFComp or similar?

Thanks

Maybe a poll would be helpful?

I use SDL Frotz for all Z-code games, QTads for TADS, Hugor for Hugo, and Gargoyle for everything else.
Then I also use Fabularium on my phone.
If it doesn’t run in one of those, I won’t play it.

I use Frotz (curses) on terminal emulation for the Z? story files, QTads for, well, TADS 2 & 3, and Hugor for Hugo story files, all the rest (esp. glulx) I use gargoyle.

Best regards from Italy,
dott. Piergiorgio.

Thanks to both of you - always interesting to hear individual experiences.

A poll might be a good idea - however, I will wait and see if anyone knows if anything has been done before.

Unfortunately, the IFComp organizers are the only ones who can really say what percentage of the voters on each game played online versus downloading. Authors can see how many people played online (leaving transcripts) and how many people voted, but not the overlap between them, and a lot of people launch the game in the online interpreter to get a quick look without actually playing and voting.

(That’s for IFComp, at least. For this forum, a poll sounds like a good idea!)

I wonder if the results so far tell us something about a person’s single interpreter of choice, which is a different question. I answered Frotz and Lectrote, but the reality is that I only use Frotz rarely, primarily for graphical Infocom games.

So git has a new directive. git play.

$ git play

Checking out master…

Warning, you are attempting to play the master branch…

Launching z-machine…

“You awaken in a dimly lit repository. Branches of trees are all around you. Are they real, where am I.”

Now what?
