Hi Manon, thanks for this post. I was trying to find words to describe the system in which Dr. Jeangille’s letters was designed and now I find that this system of generating nonlinear text has a name and a whole competition around it? That is so exciting. Ink, you say? And it happens every year just about the same time as Ectocomp?
I was using SugarCube for that particular game, but Ink can be used for non-linear stories. There are plenty of examples in the IFDB 
(they also have Inklewriter, which is a bit easier to get in).
The dates of the InkJam are never the same, but it’s usually happening around the second half of the year. They announce it on the Inkle server about a month or so in advance.
