IFWiki: One page or two? (ZAbbrev)

The page for ZAbbrev is currently only about the C port of ZAbbrev: ZAbbrev - IFWiki . This is a port of the original C# program, written by Henrik Åsman.

Henrik’s C# program is actively maintained, getting improvements and bugfixes. As far as I can tell, the C port is intended to mirror the functionality of the C# version as closely as possible.

Should there be one page for each? If so, should the C# original be covered on the ZAbbrev page, and the C port have a page name like ZAbbrev-C?

I did have a look at https://intfiction.org/t/curveship-one-page-or-two/54811 . That looks like a case where none of the versions is more of an original version than the other.

What about this?

  1. Move “ZAbbrev” to “ZAbbrev (C#)”.
  2. Replace the automatic redirect on “ZAbbrev” instead to be a disambiguation page like Curveship - IFWiki or A-code - IFWiki.
  3. Create new “ZAbbrev (C)” page and move the relevant content from the old “ZAbbrev (C#)” page.
  4. Add links within each page’s text to the other page.

I went ahead and did this. The # character needed some jiggery-pokery as it’s not allowed on wiki page titles. We can make it display that way though.

See ZAbbrev (C#) - IFWiki and ZAbbrev (C) - IFWiki (and the disambiguation page at ZAbbrev - IFWiki).

I realised as I was doing this that @heasm66 and @jxself are both on the forum. Hope you are happy with it!
