I have made an Inform7 development environment which works on the iPad and OSX, I want to state firstly that this is not meant to replace anything out there necessarily. I really just wanted to be able to edit and compile inform7 on my iPad, as it did not exist, and no offers for porting compensation were completed. Opus 5.5 came around, and I vibe coded it, with some debugging. I hope I have recognized all of the associated licenses involved. This is all licensed with open-ness at heart.
The product can be found at:
it works on both the iPad and the MacBook.
I also released a player, which is a bit pedestrian, and tried some AI to reduce parser vocab friction, but I don’t think it adds much. It can be enabled, but is disabled by default… I started playing IF back in the 80s with inform, so I tend to be a purist, but some things do piss me off.
all of these use iCloud to sync games and projects between devices… so I hope it is nice.
Is there any option to not use iCloud? I use Dropbox for my cloud storage, for example, and don’t tend to like software that makes me use iCloud instead of just choosing where my files go.
As as update, the AI layer is really adding nothing to the game, so I am going to remove it, I did add speech and speech recognition to the game, could be useful if it works. Just testing. And I did do something kind of cool, it now allows one to search the ifdb and load games directly from the site, and it allows the connecting to ifcomp and browsing the years list of entries to the competition, and you can bo back years. This, along with the notes section might be handy for the yearly ifcomp., again this is largely vibe-coded, but it seems to be working fine.
