as the title says. I have a bunch of unpleasant PM to delete from my inbox, I have moved all of those in the archive, but I can’t find how to delete these crufts.
Any suggestions ?

In general, archiving is the way to get something out of your inbox.
A PM is essentially a private topic with a limited number of users who can view and reply. Since there can be more than two participants, you may not be able to entirely delete a PM that you didn’t initiate.
You should be able to delete your own individual messages in a PM, but you won’t have access to delete an entire PM created by other users, the same as in public forum topics. Click the three dots (…) icon then the trash icon.
You can also remove yourself from the PM access list. This doesn’t delete the PM for the other users, but stops you from seeing and receiving notifications about it.

thanks for the explanation, and I note that isn’t possible a total deletion; anyway, can live with it, using the archive part of the message area a “lazerette” for those ugly unpleasantness.
But there’s another, major, issue in your answer; you carelessly posted as example of how to (partially) delete a PM some screenshots taken from the exchange of PM between me and a third party, and albeit you cared (not perfectly, I note) to censor the actual content, the subject of the private exchange and the name of my corrispondent remained in plain sight. I don’t care much about this, but I can’t say about my correspondent.
I think you realise the seriousness of the issue, which I assess as done in good faith.
(Side point, I note in my message aerea at least three excanges between us, which you can have used as example w/o involving the third party.)

No problem on my behalf, but it seems important to note the our correspondence was NOT unpleasant at all! It was in fact a beta testing process.
All who know me here know well enough I’m pretty good at being unpleasant in the clear: I don’t need the PMs.

Though it wasn’t PM from me, I feel sorry that you, @Piergiorgio_d_errico had unpleasant experiences in this forum. I say so because I have left minimum 4 (!) forums (all about stuff that really interests me) because of other people were really nasty!!
I personally am glad that this forum is nicer than those.

I took those screenshots inside your account thinking that your original post was private. Then when I got back to your message halfway through I was like “Oh, this is public Site Feedback, let me censor the content of this…” and I did a poor job.
