Graphic Illustrator needed for Steam project

Hello, I have written an IF game for the Steam platform and I need someone to help me make graphics for the game’s Steam Store page.

I need someone with Illustrator skills in graphics. For example, if I asked you to make me a 256 x 256 pixel Jpeg of a house, draw me a house from a blank canvas in Photoshop or your Imac book.

The last artist I had for this project used AI prompts to draw the graphics and Steam said a hard No to that when I submitted them. Do not use AI. Do not import a picture of a house from somewhere and then edit it to make it look like you drew it from scratch. Do not use AI and then edit the metadata of the picture to make it look like it’s not AI.

I need an illustrator to draw each graphic on a blank grid of squares in Photoshop or your favorite drawing program. I will provide you with a list of 10 graphics, their height and width in pixels, what each graphic should be a picture of, and what format to save them in. You will work on 3 of them, and the other 7 are cropping and resizing of the first 3.

You don’t need to know anything about Steam. I will upload your completed graphics into Steam myself.

There is no commitment on your part until I send you the list of the 10 graphics, their sizes, what they are, and what the game is about. You can then think about how long it will take you to do them, and quote me a price.

To start: Private message me a 256 x 256 pixel Jpeg of a house. Any kind of house – just don’t use any AI prompts or import a picture of a house from somewhere else first and edit the house. Make the house from scratch. You can send more than one in different art styles. Just show me your drawing skill. But don’t spend hours on it either.

I don’t know how many people will apply for this. If I like your house, I will get back with you.

Thank you.

Steve

I don’t know if he’s still available but @Jamespking did some amazing work for my game Swigian many years ago before AI was invented:

I do art myself but don’t usually use pixel art. If no one else responds I can whip up something to show you; but Marco was great for me.

@Steve, you’ve defined what you want very well. I have one question though. Are most of the ten pictures going to be displayed at larger resolutions? Or are all/most likely to be shown at the 256x256 size or the like?

i got the impression @Steve was just using pixels as dimension of the images not requesting “pixel art”. steam has very strict requirements for image sizes iirc. steve can clarify though

Seconding @Jamespking for pixel art. He did marvelous work for Cursèd Pickle of Shireton.

I can do pixelart. No other form of traditional art.
All my works are 100% original. (As all do, I use references sometimes— it depends on the subject).

This said: I’m pretty busy these days, so I can offer my services only if there is no strict deadline. (Like in “couple weeks” not “couple days”)

ETA: ah! I work for free only for personal, free to get projects.

Yes, I meant pixels as the dimensions of the width and height. It doesn’t have to be “pixel art”. It can be any kind of art.

Have you ever considered either commissioning a bespoke 3D model or purchasing an existing one on Fab?

Then you could install Unreal Engine 5, Blender or both which are both free? You could even delegate this step too and have someone give you the Unreal / Blender project.

You could then load, and render out any as many iterations as you need without AI and steam’s approval?

I do all my art with 3d renders like that. If you want a realistic style as opposed to a drawing, it’s a good idea. It’s better than ai because you have complete control over detail and composition. If you want a house, I’ve probably got one I could render for free.
