German IF Grand Prix 2026

The 16th Grand Prix for (mainly) German-language text games is coming in spring 2026!

Participation is open to everyone. A statement of intent must be submitted by March 1, 2026; entries are due by April 1. Voting runs through May 1, and the results will be published the following day.

You’ll find the detailed schedule and rules in the if::de forum https://if-forum.org/topic.php?id=1361 and in full on the IF Grand Prix pages http://ifwizz.de/grand-prix.html (German language, forum may be consulted in English language).

The most important rule change affects all entrants: they may now vote—just not on their own entries—and they may discuss entries during the competition. As before, translations from other languages, gamebooks, and graphic adventures that can be played via text input are eligible.

Wishing everyone lots of fun and success—whether you’re entering, voting, posting, or spreading the word—and helping make this little gem better known across gaming and reading communities!

PS: Feel free to like, comment on, and follow the announcements on Bluesky, Instagram, Mastodon, Threads, or X/Twitter to help spread #ifGP26. Thank you!

I had a go at Nils’ Bohrmaschine and managed to complete it with my super basic German skills.

It’s short and straightforward, I had a lot of fun figuring out the commands. Congrats @OlafNowacki !
