Fun for players & judges

Now that I can play, review and judge serenely and openly the IFComp, I must admit that I’m already enjoying it.

How came, one enjoy the 'Comp when isn’t even started ??? everyone will surely wonder.

The answer is incredibly simple: I’m reading all programming & technical questions in the various IF language related subforum, trying to divine not only if the question is for developing an IFComp entry, but also, but also what genre, theme, &c. In other terms, the traditional Adventurer’s low cunning and lateral thinking, turning the help/technical question in sort of meta-puzzle. And, trust me, IS fun. A good appetizer, I daresay.

Let’s enjoy together this 'Comp !

Hello,

While that is an intriguing approach and sounds like fun, allow me to point out that IFComp isn’t the only competition around. IntroComp has just opened for entries, and at least my project is going there and not to IFComp.

So, I guess, you can add “determine which contest it goes to” also to the list

Happy hunting

I remember in 2011 wanting to use a pen name (just – it’d be fun,) and sort of wanting to ask for help … but because it was about anagrams, I couldn’t ask any specific questions that might tip things off. So that may’ve cost me some, but I definitely asked questions post-comp!
