Contests have started out with a bang for the tournament sem-finals, with seven goals in just the first 20 minutes! Superluminal Vagrant Twin is one up on Counterfeit Monkey, and Spider and Web and Anchorhead have already exchanged goals twice.

Votes continue to come in at a rapid clip. Monkey has begun to fight back but still lags by one at 4-3 in Superluminal’s favor. Spider and Web and Anchorhead continue to exchange goals, but the former is currently up by one, also at 4-3.

More votes in, and some ripples of surprise are running through the watching crowd. Superluminal Vagrant Twin has so far kept its lead and extended it to two against Counterfeit Monkey. Spider and Web and Anchorhead each continue to get past the other’s defense and are now again tied at 5-5.

Counterfeit Monkey caught up to Superluminal Vagrant Twin some hours back, but – incredibly – the space travel adventure has been the first of the pair to score again, returning it to the lead position at 9-8. Crowd enthusiasm has begun to build as these two heavyweights pour everything they’ve got into outdoing each other.
Spider and Web earned another vote, but Anchorhead did the same, leaving the #2 seed defender ahead at 10-6.

What’s this?? In a surprising turn of events, an apparent vote switch away from Superluminal Vagrant Twin plus another goal by Counterfeit Monkey has put the top seed in front, now leading at 10-8.
Spider and Web has crept a point closer to Anchorhead, but the latter is still significantly ahead at 10-7.

Superluminal Vagrant Twin vs. Counterfeit Monkey is unchanged, but Spider and Web has made another goal, placing it now two behind Anchorhead. Both games stand at 10-8 with a day and a half remaining on the clock.

Superluminal Vagrant Twin hasn’t been able to recover from the crippling vote switch earlier in the match. It remains two behind Counterfeit Monkey at 10-8, with less than a day until the buzzer.

The situation is unchanged going into the final stretch. Every indication is that the title match will be between Counterfeit Monkey and Anchorhead; each has a significant lead over their respective opponents Superluminal Vagrant Twin and Spider and Web.
With just over 11 hours remaining in the match, time will tell…

Spider and Web is making its move, adding two points to the board very late in the matchup, once again ensuring that its match is the hottest one in the segment. However, it is still trailing by one with a score of 11-10 in favor of its opponent, Anchorhead. There is still a chance for an upset, but the clock is quickly running out.
Counterfeit Monkey is keeping its distance and its defense up, not willing to give Superluminal Vagrant Twin any chance to regain its lead. The score there is unchanged at 10-8.

Superluminal Vagrant Twin comes in swinging! It’s a solid right hook, but Counterfeit Monkey hits back hard with a one-two combo, coming out ahead in the exchange with a larger lead of 12-9.
Supporters of Anchorhead are have cast last-minute votes, giving it two more points against Spider and Web and restoring its three point lead at 13-10.
There’s just over an hour to go now until the bell rings. Can either challenger make up such a large gap in that short time? Hold onto your hats…
