IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: The scores posted earlier for Division 1 were incorrect – the 6-4 split was in favor of The Wizard Sniffer and not Superluminal Vagrant Twin as shown. I apologize for the error!

With the first quarter mark just hours away, the tournament’s division finals have turned out to be a difficult struggle for almost every team playing.

In the near court for Division 1, #3 seed Superluminal Vagrant Twin battles #5 seed The Wizard Sniffer, where an early lead by the challenger has dissolved to leave the scoreboard at a tie of 10-10.

In the next court over for Division 2, top seed Counterfeit Monkey has taken off the kid gloves and is showing little mercy to #4 seed Worldsmith. With a score of 12-3 in the presumptive champion’s favor, the challenger will have a lot of work to do in the next three quarters to make up lost ground.

For Division 3, the contest between #27 seed Spider and Web and #28 seed Repeat the Ending has been as close as their seed rankings would portend. An early advantage by the defender was reclaimed by the 28th-seeded challenger by the end of the first half day, but the ensuing day-long running tie has recently been broken by the 27th-seeded spy thriller, which is up by two at 11-9.

In the far court, the match between Division 4 finalists Savoir-Faire and Anchorhead has been heating up as the magic system puzzler contends fiercely with the Lovecraftian epic. An early lead by the #2 seed of six points was whittled down to just one by the savvy challenger before another push by the leader brought the score to 11-8 in Anchorhead’s favor.

As we reach the halftime mark of the division finals, voting has slowed to a trickle after a very strong first quarter.

In Division 1, Superluminal Vagrant Twin and The Wizard Sniffer remain deadlocked at 10 all.

In Division 2, an apparent vote switch from Counterfeit Monkey to Worldsmith has narrowed the gap between them significantly but not substantially. The score there stands at 11-4 in favor of the former.

In Division 3, Spider and Web has given up one point of its lead to Repeat the Ending, leaving the nominal defender still narrowly ahead at 11-10.

In Division 4, Anchorhead has picked up another point, widening its lead over Savoir-Faire to 12-8.

With the third quarter mark in the rearview mirror, the basic situation remains unchanged across all divisions.

Neither Superluminal Vagrant Twin nor The Wizard Sniffer were able to score last quarter. They remain stuck at 10-10, a situation that threatens the possibility of a coin toss resolution to the tournament’s first matchup between top 5 seeds.

Counterfeit Monkey remains ahead at 11-4 against Worldsmith, with neither challenger nor defender scoring a recent goal.

An apparent vote switch from Repeat the Ending to Spider and Web has shored up the latter’s lead, leaving the score at 12-9 in its favor.

Savoir-Faire has gained another point, reducing the lead of Anchorhead to three. This matchup also stands at 12-9, and with the clock running down time is on the side of the #2 seed defender.
