I updated the forum yesterday, which included an increase to the main font size, from 15px to 16px. This was a basically hidden change, which I’m not happy with, but it doesn’t seem like they’ll revert it. But we could change it back ourselves. What does everyone think?
Note that this is desktop only, the mobile version hasn’t been changed.
What are the increments on the font size user preferences, do you know? I bumped mine down one and it feels like it’s relatively close to what it was before, but…
I’m not sure, I’ve never used them. But yes, thank you for point it out. If we don’t end up changing back the base size to 15px, then if anyone does think it’s too big they can adjust that setting themselves.
In my opinion, sites should never make the body text size smaller than the default (16 px, de facto).
I noticed the change, but now it seems to be back to “normal”. I’m happy with normal.
I haven’t changed it back yet, it’s still bigger. Though on mobile it never was increased, only on desktop.
Since I’m not getting any younger, the 16px size is easier on my eyes.
Despite this being an unplanned change, there doesn’t seem to be any opposition to it. It’s very nice when user polls turn out like that!
