Jokes aside, I used to have a single Inform project that I repurposed for any new little experiments, because I was worried that IFIDs were assigned sequentially and I would be wasting them. Only learning that they were generated at random broke me of that habit!

Since it’s entirely possible two computers could generate identical IDs for different works, you’re still wasting them. Cease your profligate ways! :laughing:

It’s ok, I’m generating them as fast as I can and saving them for when there’s a shortage. I will let people borrow them when needed. :wink:
