I couldn’t escape the book title.

I couldn’t get past the “Story Notice” page. I clicked all around and pressed enter and couldn’t get anything to move forward. Maybe that’s a Safari thing?

fixed try again

Book title?

There’s a bit where you have to write a “book” on parchement. This was tedious, but afterward, you had to enter a title.

I could type into the title entry box, but then i could not do anything else. Somehow i was stuck in this box.

When I visited the game, all I received was a large block of code. It was not rendered into the game. ???

For security reasons, Dropbox lets you download HTML files, but doesn’t serve them directly. So you’ll have to download it and then open in a browser.

HELLO is my game good?

I’m going to download and take a look this evening.

Okay thank you

I took a quick run through some of your game. Got to the grocery shopping aspect, where I think there was no way to progress.

First off, it was nice to have such complimentary music choices to play the game. I thought this enhanced the game tremendously.

The cool introduction animation was interesting, but it felt a bit out of place. Could just be me, but I wanted to just get to the action of the game.

You took the time to make a custom colour scheme so I would use a sepia tone instead to bring it into the depression era look. Think about the old photos you see where no one smiled. Bright white feels modern, and sometimes clinical.

Sepia Palette Variations

Other than that, you’ve done a great job with the choices to make. I feel like everything has a cost (not just the grocery store items  ). I was immediately playing the game from this perspective and the game seemed to follow suit.

There was one thing I did not like at all, and that was the buttons where the text was clickable, but not the surrounding box itself. I know there is a way to remedy this in Harlowe so if you agree with me, make a topic about it and I’m sure myself or another will chime in. Might as well help others see the solution too.

Anyway, thanks for sharing!
