It’s a pleasure to present the English translation of my classic text adventure, Erinia.
You don’t remember when you were first locked up between the cold walls of a cell in a complex in the middle of the ocean, but today everything has changed. Today, together with your fellow prisoner, you are going to execute a plan that you have been plotting for a long time to finally achieve freedom. But soon, you will discover that reality is even more terrifying than you imagined. Will you be able to overcome all the challenges and escape from this place alive?
Get ready to relive the experience of old-school text adventure games on your favorite retro computer, with all the charm of the ‘80s and ‘90s, as you unravel the secrets hidden on the island of Project Erinia.
This adventure was originally written in PAWS and published in 2020 for ZX Spectrum computers, later modified in December 2023 using the DAAD parser from Aventuras AD to bring it to other retro systems. Based on this version, thanks to Uto’s Maluva program and DAAD Ready, the Enhanced version was created in 2024, incorporating raster graphics into the game and improving some location descriptions to create a more immersive experience. In early 2025, the game was translated into English and ported to a wider range of 8-bit and 16-bit systems.
The game is multiplatform, available for Commodore Amiga, Atari ST, ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, MSX, and Amstrad CPC. The file you download will be a cassette or disk image for one of these systems. It will not auto-run, so an emulator is required. It can also be transferred to physical media to run on real hardware. Note that in the version for Commodore 64 , loading times can be slow, taking up to approximately 9 seconds.
This adventure serves as a prequel to Antarctica, a choice-based game for ZX Spectrum by the same author. I encourage you to play it if you haven’t already.
