Hellos world! I wanted to share my game plan with you all. First and foremost, what am I talking about? I am making a game called “after babel”

The name “after babel” imples some connection to the tower of babel. and you would be right. I won’t spoil too much. You play as a hunter during a time where humanity has recovered from the tower of babel. Fun Fact, in the lore of “after babel” English is a combination of all the languages everyone spoke directly after babel. The story is inspired by “The Mirror Visitor” by Christelle Dabos. Again no spoilers!

As for mechanics it will be a trpg, text adventure. The weapon system is pretty simple, Each weapon is attained in one way only. This means that you get one version of the weapon to upgrade per play-through. The fun part being stances. They are like the charms from hallow knight but weapon specific. Like, for Instance, the Judas’s War ax two stances: Stand and Push. Push makes stun last +1 more turn, While Stand adds +2 to your Con. You also get to pick moves that show up in one stance but not the other.

I mentioned Con with stances without explaining it Con is Constitution, Str is Strength, and Int is Intelligence. Dex is Dexterity. Each one has an out of combat use and an in combat use except Dex. Int out of combat affects how people see you. Con works like perception in Bloodborne. Str affects intimidation. As for combat… Str = melee weapons, Int = spells, Con = Defense. Dex is unique as it cannot be affected by leveling and its sole purpose is to determine who gets to attack first.

That’s all folks!
