I’m so excited!! What a beautiful bunch of games. Congratulations to everyone who made it to the finish line!
And yes, lotta boats.
So many boats! I am feeling both relieved and a bit left out that I couldn’t finish my nautical-themed game in time to enter it…hopefully it won’t be unfashionable by next year.
@dfabulich wrote some better scripts to create IFDB pages, which I think have been used already https://github.com/iftechfoundation/ifdb/tree/main/ifcomp-importer
How marvellous that the competition is open for playing! I will shortly be drawing up a list of games for me to tackle first. I’m not sure how many I will get through, but intend to write reviews of all that I play through. I will open up a new dedicated thread for that soon. Thanks to all the authors! I love it when IFComp launches each year
For the record, my IFComp → IFDB importer scripts are here:
I’ve done Phase 1. Phase 2 is waiting for all games to be available in the IF Archive.
(I’ve also begun work on the TODO items, including automatically tagging all games with the “IFComp YYYY” tag, and adding a way to add games to a competition without a zillion clicks.)
Just woke up and I’m so excited!
Congratulations to everyone who entered. Let’s all have fun playing!
Slightly off topic, but what does it take to become a forum Regular?
Edit: To answer my own question:
By participating in the Forum (reading posts, creating posts, commenting, liking posts…). It can take a few weeks/months to get to the Regular level (highest below mods).
