ChoiceBeat issue #15

The new issue of ChoiceBeat: The Visual Novel and Interactive Fiction Zine has arrived.

Read it online or download or it in print from the ChoiceBeat website.

This is easily my fav issue so far, so please take a look! Thank you so much for reading.

Check out:

  • Ladykiller in a Bind – Every issue has to have one game with a content warning that’s a mile long.
  • Spellbound: Malachite Coven – Witch dating, ChoiceScript style
  • The King of Chicago – 1986 adventure game of crime and more crime
  • Hypercard Novellas of John Freemyer – You will not believe this wild and crazy stuff!
  • Long Live the Queen – Our most hated writer complains about a beloved classic game. When are we going to fire them?
  • Videotome– Including an interview with Freya Campbell, creator of the Videotome engine and ace Domino Clubber
  • Wanderlust: The Magnificent Journey – Travel the world with your besties!
  • Wanderlust: Travel Stories – Another game about traveling, completely unrelated to the other Wanderlust
  • Our Winding Road – Complicated love from the creators of Chronicle of Tal’Dun
  • The Test – From our hard-hitting, mean-spirited review, “To describe it charitably, it’s not a very serious attempt at game-making.”
  • Gay Furry Visual Novels – We know you want them. Get on in here!

And definitely check out the article about Hell Farm Calendar and other hypercard works by the mysterious John Freemyer. The ChoiceBeat team would LOVE to hear from and chat with this fascinating creator from 1990s.

You can play these games on ScummVm

Which games did you mean?

ScummVm

This seems to be a news post about ScummVM supporting WorldBuilder games. I don’t think there are any WorldBuilder games mentioned in this ChoiceBeat article, nor any games that you can play in ScummVM at all. The screenshot above seems to be from Are You a Space Alien?, which is a HyperCard game, and ScummVM doesn’t support those. Are you sure you’re posting in the right thread?
