🕵️ ChatMystery - an AI-powered text-based detective game (looking for first testers)

Hi everyone,
I’d like to share a project I’ve been building over the past year with my friend Mates. It’s called ChatMystery, and it’s a detective game where you interact with suspects through freeform text - no scripts, no trees, just open conversation powered by AI.

You ask questions. They answer (or lie, or deflect). Your goal is to figure out what really happened.

The game isn’t finished. There’s still a lot to improve - in design, logic, pacing, clarity. What we need right now is feedback. Real feedback. From people who aren’t our friends and don’t feel obligated to be nice.

So we’ve opened up access for the first 10 people, with 7 days completely free (you just need to connect through Patreon - no charge unless you stay).
If it resonates, you can stick around for $1/month. If not, that’s okay too.

This isn’t a polished release. It’s a working experiment. We’re trying to find out whether the core idea is worth pursuing further.

If you’re curious, here’s the site:

Thanks for reading - and for any honest reactions you’re willing to share.

Hello. I connected through via Patreon, but just got a blank green screen with no cases or content. Not sure why.

I didn’t get to try it, but I’ll say something anyway. I think your plan of charging people to test your, in development, game is not workable. It might be true that you have to pay for the AI backend, but that is your real problem.

Perhaps there is a cheaper AI host you can use, where the costs are low enough you can absorb them. During development anyhow. The other option would be to host the AI on your own server. That will cost too, but it’s more of a known quantity.

This is something you’ll have to do anyway at some point, otherwise the AI backend costs will force your product to be over-priced, which you don’t want either.

Best of luck though.
