I used to be able to see who liked a post by hovering over the “like” button, but it doesn’t seem to show that anymore. I really enjoyed that and found it useful. Is that an individual setting or did something get turned off on the site?
I get a notification when someone likes a post I made, it shows as a number in a circle superimposed on my user icon. Below the relevant post I get a number next to the heart icon, and if I click on that (not hover over it) then I get a list of the users who liked it.
I don’t remember hovering working, but clicking the number does.
So it does. I feel dumb. I was clicking the heart and not the number. Thanks all!
5 posts were split to a new topic: Jack Toresol [split from original topic]
It works in Safari if I hover (it shows the number but not who) so it may be browser dependent.
As stated you can click the number to see like detail.
Discourse is pretty slick, but some of its features are not obvious (“discoverable” I think is the UI designer term).
Huh, I just noticed that when you hover on the number or the heart of a post that’s been marked as a solution the background highlighting isn’t rectangular!
This makes the site literally unusable, I shall be demanding a full refund!
Interesting yeah. Nang, if people would just stop solving problems yo…
Must be a CSS thing in the Intfiction theme, I never noticed it since I live in Dracula. Ah-ah-ah.
I’m now going to notice whether the highlighting is rectangular or skewed every time I hover over the Likes.
Every. Single. Time.
Thank you.
Dark mode for the win!
Essential* keeps its lines straight too.
That’s odd, all three of those themes also show jagged lines for me. I figured it might just be Firefox being weird so I tested in Chrome and Safari and they all still show jagged lines. Does anybody else see jagged lines? I’m starting to think that perhaps my computer is haunted.
That’s the only logical conclusion.
I don’t see jagged lines at all. Although, if it weren’t for the bottom line, the outline reminds me of a manila folder.
Step 1) Look at the nearest window, picture frame or doorway. Anything which is normally to be expected to be straight-edged.
Step 2) Do you see jagged lines?
Step 3) If “yes” to previous, consult eye or brain specialist. If “no” to previous, look up computer-excorcist in phonebook.
What if I don’t get any likes? Can that be fixed
Be more likeable?
You can accumulate the most likes by posting content with a high probability of accuracy, as that will make your posts more likely.
