[ANNOUNCING] The White Cat's Dark Affair (and new IF label)

Hi, people,

Next year, I will publish a narrative game on Steam, titled The White Cat’s Dark Affair.

It is a cyberpunk hitman thriller.

The gist of the project is that it is a minimalist narrative game that uses the archetype of point and click adventures, but it is devoid completely of puzzles and mechanics. The game happens in one room, and we use ellipses to tell a tale of global corruption without interrupting the narrative.

It would help a lot if you add it to your wishlists (well, if you like the concept, of course).

This project has been made possible through collaboration with Dumaker, a talented punk artist creating exquisite pixel art, and IndieLuuke, the programmer we have been waiting for over 7 years.

PRESENTING LABYR INTERACTIVE

The thing of announcing it here, a part of the blatant self-promotion, and also testing the strength of this forum as a “fools and friends” force ;), is that these games kickstart my endeavour of creating a new IF editing label. I plan to start an IF company called Labyr Interactive, alone, but with the help of collaborators and freelancers. So yes, I think this will be of interest to the forum regarding the usual topic: “Can a text games company be profitable”? Yep, I’m on it! let’s see how it goes! (of course, Inkle, CoG, and Failbetter are huge inspirations).

But you will tell me, but The White Cat is a graphical game, you are doing it wrong.

Well, I plan to publish two lines of work: 1) brief text games (not parser, mind you, I’m sorry), of course, packed like a proper product for the XXI century, and 2) Graphical narrative games, also brief and minimalistic, that right now most of them are projects with Dumaker.

And that’s it. We and I are doing this in our free time. I don’t plan to quit my two jobs :\ I don’t mind if this works or not… just let’s see if I can do something as a “weekend company”.

Wish me luck!

Hey,

I have created the social networks for the project and the company, Labyr Interactive. Please, follow us on your favourite social network:

For Mastodon, you can follow me there, if you have not already:

I don’t plan to use Mastodon for “corporate advertisement” XD

And no, I don’t plan to go to Instagram, but you can follow Dumaker, the artist behind the project there for more punk art:

These links really look creepy here at the forum, but they are legit profiles XD

Thanks!
