I’m sure I’m missing something obvious, but I’m stuck at the very end of the game.
Trala, Lind, and the stranger are on an elevated platform covered in gold and jewels. The stranger’s pocket is closed. I’ve tried all the nouns I can see—TRALA, LIND, STRANGER, ME, POCKET, SKYLIGHT, GOLD, JEWELS, PLATFORM, METAL—but none of them seem to help. PRAY points me to something hidden in the gold, but I can’t move them by myself.
I stuck for a little bit there, too. My hint is either explicit or will get you there (it’s possible I don’t understand the mechanism. Or there may be no mechanism.)
I had examined the TREASURE, but I forgot if initially I examined the specific bits of treasure. When I did X (some specific treasure), I made progress. I can’t tell if I had to examine a particular one, or had to examine the big noun first, or acknowledge some character behaviour first etc. But that’s how I moved forward.
This part threw me, too—it’s kind of a different mechanic from anything that’s come before. I can’t really think what’s a good gentle nudge in the right direction, but think Lime Ergot.
Still in the first room, somewhat far along. What do I do with the brass box? I managed to get it to become flashing but I don’t know what to do with it. It’s the next thing that the PRAY command wants me to do. The stranger has a doohickey, a dealie, a widget, a thingy, a whatsit, a doodad, and some fairy husks.. I’ve used/opened the metal something, panel, grey stuff, little door, dealie, widget, rigamajig, tingly hole, floppy doodah, oojamaflip, thingy, whatsit, round bits, doodad, gizmo.
There’s nothing else that makes the gadget go krikrikri, but there are two things that make a similar sound. That’s what you need to recognize for the next stage of the puzzle.
Yeah, I got stuck there for a bit: if the brass box isn’t activated then they do something that made me think they weren’t the right items? But it’s just not turned on, I think.
