Does anyone know if registered co-authors are automatically added to the IFComp sub-forum, so long as they have an intfiction account?
I can ask the organizers but had hoped not to have to bother them (again) on the last day before the deadline.

I don’t remember if the entry form asks for your forum handle, which is how Jacq would know who to add to the group. That sometimes is the disconnect - not everyone’s forum username or listed name might match their author name or pseudonym used in the comp.
Once the competition opens, I will set the Author participant group so anyone can request access.
The requests are manually reviewed; basically as long as the co-author is listed on the official entry it shouldn’t be a problem.

The entry form does ask for your forum handle, but (as we learned the hard way last year!) it does not handle coauthors the same way as authors. Whenever EJ and I have submitted we’ve always had to manually request access for whoever is listed as coauthor but it’s always been approved in a timely manner.

Yes: most everyone who wants to participate will be added or join within the first week. That’s why I’m in the group also so if any stragglers request access later when Jacq’s attention is focused elsewhere I’ll get an alert also.

If you are a 2026 IFComp author/participant, you can now request access to join if you’re not already in the group.
