Adapting a novel for IF

In my experience, choice-based IF reads somewhat more like a non-interactive novel, but I agree with those who suggest that it’s essentially blowing up your novel. Your existing story might form the start of a reasonably good outline for a choice-based IF.

Or if it does, the interactivity might best be realized as a sequence of actions which are not about searching for clues.
