You’re ten-year-old Sean MacDonald on holidays at your Aunt Clarissa’s farm. Everything is perfect, yet something bothers you about Aunt Clarissa.
When you go to bed after your first day on the farm, you can’t get to sleep due to a pain in your back, so you tip-toe down to the kitchen to see if you can find a painkiller.
Before you know it, you’re embroiled in horror and witchcraft…
A Taste of Terror is my entry in ParserComp 2025. The game has an interesting history, so type ABOUT to get a taste of that history. I may divulge more later.
This is a traditional text adventure written using Inform 6 and the PunyInform library. It’s a fairly large game, so expect to spend a couple of hours playing it. I think it’s relatively easy, although you may find some of the puzzles a bit challenging. There’s a HINT command if you get desperate, but try to avoid using it. And make sure you draw a map!
You can play the game online or download the z5 file to play in your favourite interpreter. See link above.
