A surprising fact

Because my main WIP is plainly intended for expert adventurers, after some coaxing, I compiled my WIP without english/instructions.t and english/newbie.t and I was more than surprised by the really substantial reduction in file size:

~/if/wrk/tads3/isekai$ ls -l isekai.t3
-rw-r--r-- 1 pigi pigi 2313400 21 mar 21.55 isekai.t3
~/if/wrk/tads3/isekai$ ls -l isekai.t3
-rw-r--r-- 1 pigi pigi 1665389 21 mar 22.10 isekai.t3

that is, I recovered a whopping 648011 bytes, an unexpected reduction in file size, considering the source of the two omitted libraries.

Of course, I passed the last hour or so in checking the story file, and everything minus the INSTRUCTION (and its wall of text) command and the help for newbies seems really working as was before, no apparent screwups.

Not that is a problem for me, but that omitting these two libraries delivers a rather sizeable (and welcome) reduction in file size is a something that can be of interest for authors of large and very large IFs, which often are definitively intended for seasoned adventurers. So, I share this surprising, but useful fact.

Best regards from Italy,
dott. Piergiorgio.
