Discord Server “Dalle Ceneri / From Ashes”: Dalle Ceneri / From Ashes

:uk: Hello everyone, here Sophos Ioun (@SophosIoun) and Raya (@RebelNightmare).
We are here to try to do something really difficult.
We searched for an italian community for long, and all we found were dead forums.
The last one (IF Italia - Il Wiki della Interactive Fiction Italiana - Home Page) seems to have died in 2013 out to starvation, and we were unable to find others, and so… we decided to try to build a new one, in the occasion of the new ECTOCOMP competition of this month!
Other language groups already have a very active one (for example Textualiza in Spanish) and, although italian is less spread, we think this can still be a good project to revive a community and increase the participation of italians in the wonderful IF world.
We’re asking you just one thing: spread the word the more you can, and help us!

Vogliamo provare a fare qualcosa di davvero difficile.
Abbiamo cercato di trovare una community italiana per tanto tempo, e tutto ciò in cui siamo incappati sono stati forum defunti.
L’ultimo (IF Italia - Il Wiki della Interactive Fiction Italiana - Home Page) sembra essere passato a miglior vita per assenza di persone, e non siamo stati in grado di trovarne altro e perciò… abbiamo deciso di crearne uno nuovo in occasione della ECTOCOMP di questo mese!
Altre lingue già dispongono di comunità molto attive (ad esempio Textualiza in spagnolo) e, anche se l’italiano è meno diffuso, pensiamo che questo possa essere un buon progetto per far rinascere una comunità e aumentare la partecipazione degli italiani nel fantastico mondo dell’IF.
Vi chiediamo giusto una cosa: spargete la voce più che potete, e aiutateci!

Queremos intentar hacer algo muy difícil.
Llevamos mucho tiempo buscando una comunidad Italiana, y las únicas que encontramos en nuestra búsqueda estaban todas difuntas.
La última (IF Italia - Il Wiki della Interactive Fiction Italiana - Home Page) parece muerta por falta de gente y no conseguimos encontrar otras, así que … ¡Hemos decidido construir una nueva, con ocasión de la nueva edición de ECTOCOMP este mes!
Otros idiomas ya tienen sus propias comunidades muy activas (por ejemplo, Textualiza en español) y, aunque el italiano esté menos difundido, creemos que este puede ser un buen proyecto para reanimar la comunidad y aumentar la participación de los Italianos en el magnífico mundo de la IF.
Sólo te pedimos una cosa: que corras la voz.

I don’t speak Italian, but I have a fascination with the early Italian text adventures, particularly those from the many Italian magazines of the 1980s. Good luck with the new community.

Naturalmente approvo l’ iniziativa, e caldeggio che si apra un subforum in Italiano, sul modello spagnolo (fermo restando il divieto di parlare di politica, e se aggiungiamo anche calcio ed estetica femminile, sarebbe perfetto…)

Of course I approve the initiative and encourage the opening of a subforum in Italian [in this forum] (keeping the rule agains speaking about politics, and if we add ruling against [EU] football and female aestethics [the three interminable arguments every Italian is always keen to engage, NdT/TN] will be perfect…

of course, comparing the two renditions can help in figuring the issues around Isekai/First Contact/Creative Cooking, or at least I hope…

When I click the link for the new Discord server, I get told it’s an invalid invite. Might this have expired? I tried searching for it manually, but couldn’t find it.

Thanks to @Warrigal for pointing out the issue and to @RebelNightmare for generating the new link.
I edited the topic message (does it have any specific name btw? “the big message on the top” seems so strange to say and think :smiley: ) so now there shouldn’t be any more issue.
