2026 Inkjam entry - That Sink

The 2026 InkJam submission period has closed. This is my entry. The theme this year was “Let That Sink In”, which I chose to take very literally.

That Sink is written entirely in ink, with illustrations and even some light puzzles. I was trying to experiment with bridging the gap between parser games (a map you can move around freely, inventory items) and choice-based games. Written over five days, I think it came together pretty well.

The other submissions in the inkjam can be found here: Submissions to inkjam 2026 - itch.io

I have only played a few but so far Love is Like Sinking Into a Pinpoint Black Hole is my favorite.

This is a fun one!

I love the art, and the humour definitely worked well for me. My favourite bit was definitely the duck, but also this bit:

Take rope.

Good choice, I’ve often thought that taking is the superior manner of acquiring inventory items.

Thank you for your kind words. That Sink doesn’t really push the envelope technically but I used it to experiment with narrative techniques. It’s hard to judge humor so I am glad you enjoyed it.

ice story, well implemented. I liked the artwork and the writing.

Now i want to know what happens next. How to reconcile the kitchen appliances are somehow now conscious? Does that mean there are aliens after all? Is the sink out to get me? Should i get a new one? What about the Juicer? And, where’s my breakfast??

Nice work.

The inkjam is over and the results are in. As I expected, Love is Like Sinking Into a Pinpoint Black Hole took the top honors. Second place went to Taħt il-Mewġ, another game I thought was very well done.

I am happy to report that That Sink came 5th equal out of a field of 20.
