The aisle continues north, and the restroom lies to the south, out of which drifts the unquestionable smell of waste. A heavy metal door blocks you from entering the public bathroom. Your window to the west sits in line with all the others. >x seat You can't see any such thing. >* hmm That's not a verb I recognise. >smell It smells like a public loo. What else would you expect? >x window The window associated with your seat. A plastic shield covers your view to the outside world. >open window You open the 34A window. >x window Nothing but a vast expanse of blue ocean whizzes by below and stretches as far as you can see. You can't recall if it would be the Arctic or Atlantic, but you seem quite sure its one of the two. Geography was never your strongest subject. >up You can't go that way. >stand But you aren't in anything at the moment. >score You have so far scored 0 out of a possible 111, in 8 turns. >l Aeroplane Seat 34A The farthest back seat on this particular plane. The aisle continues north, and the restroom lies to the south, out of which drifts the unquestionable smell of waste. A heavy metal door blocks you from entering the public bathroom. Your window to the west sits in line with all the others. >x door A sturdy door with no weak points. The only way to get this door open is with the key. >open it It seems to be locked. >unlock door (with the aeroplane ticket) That doesn't seem to fit the lock. >x other windows You can't see any such thing. >i You are carrying: an aeroplane ticket >x ticket A defaced plane ticket indicating which seat is yours (34A). Interestingly, it seems the destination has been marked out with solid black ink. You really have no idea where this flight is headed. >x me As good-looking as ever. >* hmm That's not a verb I recognise. >n The Aisle You stand in the single aisle running the length of the plane. More empty aisle stretches out to the north, eventually leading to the cockpit at the head of the plane. Rows of vacant seats line the aisle, making the aeroplane feel haunted and hollow. >x seats All of the trays have been placed in the upright and locked position, and it seems (unfortunately for you) that everyone has secured their personal belongings before leaving, because with a cursory glance, nothing looks out of place. >n The Northern Aisle The northern end of the ghostly aisle, very near to the cockpit. You wonder for a moment if it would be possible to try to land the plane and exit traditionally, but something in the back of your mind warns against it. An imposing door to the north blocks entry to the cockpit. The door to the front bathroom lies to the east, but as opposed to the rear-bathroom door, this one looks rather flimsy. A closed luggage bay above you begs to be opened. >x bay A standard compartment for holding one's luggage. It is currently closed. >open it You open the luggage bay, revealing a carry-on bag. >x bag A luggage bag intended to be brought on-board the plane. It really is a wonder how much stuff you can put in these things. Strangely, it appears its last owner emptied it before stowing it, because the bag is completely empty. The bag seems to have an otherworldly color about it. >take it Taken. >x color You can't see any such thing. >x bag A luggage bag intended to be brought on-board the plane. That's not a verb I recognise. >x flimsy Quite a flimsy little door, providing almost no security. You can't even see a lock. >open it You open the not-so-sturdy door. >l The Northern Aisle The northern end of the ghostly aisle, very near to the cockpit. It's a wonder anyone used this bathroom given the security of the door. The bathroom is quite clean, likely for this reason. The flimsy door lies to the west. a brightly colored instructional manual is splayed open on the floor. A spotless, metal aircraft toilet graces one corner of the room. >* capitalization error That's not a verb I recognise. >x toilet A reflective metal loo shining in all its glory. The toilet can be flushed (obviously), whisking any contents away into the darkness. >open it It isn't something you can open. >flush toilet A violent suction breaks the silence. >stand in toilet I only understood you as far as wanting to stand. >x manual The manual appears to contain comprehensive information on the aircraft, ranging from wing maintenance to restroom management. The pilot must have left it here before he disappeared. The section on "control room security" catches your eye. "An emergency override is installed on both the outside and inside of the cockpit door to ensure that the pilot always has acces to the control room. CAUTION: the keypad is susceptible to brute force attacks, guard it securely." At the end of this section is a hand scrawled note... Rows of vacant seats line the aisle, making the aeroplane feel haunted and hollow. >* oh, where did that come from? You seem to want to talk to someone, but I can't see whom. >x textbook A pencil is wedged within the pages. "Year 5 Mathematics - Performing Basic Operations on All Real Numbers" You skim through the first five or so chapters, and the most advanced concept covered is the idea of numbers below zero, denoted by writing a number to the right of a "-" symbol. You never know, the information could come in handy... The book seems to have an otherworldly color about it. >* OK I am screwed That's not a verb I recognise. >restart Are you sure you want to restart? y You awaken to the comfortable drone of the aeroplane's engine, feeling rather disoriented after a long sleep. Then again, you've felt disoriented almost your whole life, as if you've been living in an unreal dream. Why you didn't get a seat further from the loo remains a mystery, especially with so many open seats nearer the front. Perhaps you thought ease of access outweighed the smell. Looking around, you realize it isn't just a few open seats, but every last person on this flight has vanished. The plane still seems to be flying, stably at that. You know there were people when you boarded..... wait.... now that you think about it, you can't remember how you ended up on this flight. Something is keeping the plane on track though, even if there is no pilot. Finding your way to the cockpit would probably be a good idea, just to make sure. It's quite a long flight to ......hmm. That's quite strange indeed. You can't remember where you were headed, or why you were going there, but you can remember, interestingly, that you were (and are) travelling due north. The flight is so remarkably still that it feels like the flight could last forever, doing laps around the globe... It's going to be quite the challenge puzzling a way off this flight. Only one thing are you sure of: that you do not belong on this plane.
