You can't bear to think of how dishevelled you must be. >l Apartment You can see Inspector Knapp, Carl the landlord, an oak door, a chest of drawers, a bed, a desk, a chair, a piano, and a wardrobe here. >talk to knapp Conversation in this game is handled by ASKING. Try using ask about instead. >x knapp He doesn't want to admit it, but he is desperate for your help in this case. >ask knapp about case "The victim, Randall White, is a 55-year-old male. The landlord found the victim and called the police immediately. The victim was found seated on the chair by his desk, his head bowed down. There was a lot, in fact, a copious amount, of blood on the victim's face and body, and the surrounding area." Hint: You can also try asking about wounds or time of death. >ask knapp about blood "The blood was found to be belonging to the victim." >ask knapp about white There is no reply. >ask knapp about call There is no reply. >ask knapp about wounds "There were no visible wounds on the body." >ask knapp about time of death "The body was still warm and exhibited upper body rigidity when we arrived at around 8 am, so the time of death could be anywhere between 3 to 8 hours earlier. Oh yes, you should interview Carl, the landlord. He might give you more information." Hint: You can also try asking about alibi. >ask knapp about alibi Tip: To ask the Inspector about someone else's alibi, you need to specify the person whose alibi you want to ask the Inspector about, e.g. ask Knapp about alibi. To directly ask a suspect for his alibi, simply use ask about alibi. >ask knapp about carl's alibi "For this, you'd have to ask him yourself." There are other things you can ask these characters about, but there will be no more automatic hints from here. Be creative! Think like a detective. If you're stuck on what to ask, continue exploring the apartment. >accuse carl I didn't understand that sentence. >arrest carl I didn't understand that sentence. >l Apartment You can see Inspector Knapp, Carl the landlord, an oak door, a chest of drawers, a bed, a desk, a chair, a piano, and a wardrobe here. >dance I didn't understand that sentence. >fly I didn't understand that sentence. >l Apartment You can see Inspector Knapp, Carl the landlord, an oak door, a chest of drawers, a bed, a desk, a chair, a piano, and a wardrobe here. >talk to carl Conversation in this game is handled by ASKING. Try using ask about instead. >ask carl about alibi He started to stammer. "... Wh...What, I reported the case to the police and now I am a suspect?!" His face turned red with anger. "I... I'll have you know that I was in my own room since I returned from work at 6 pm yesterday. Didn't step out at all until slightly before 7 am, when I was looking through the rent ledger... Which was what reminded me to chase Randall for the rent again!!" >ask carl about white There is no reply. >ask carl about victim "Randall was already dead when I found him... I'd wanted to give him a piece of my mind as I've had enough of waiting for him to pay his rent, which had been months overdue. I went to his door, and to my surprise, it was not locked. I opened the door and had the shock of my life... Oh the blood! I ran back to my room and informed the police right away. I swear, I had nothing to do with this, Detective..." >ask carl about blood There is no reply. >ask carl about wounds There is no reply. >ask carl about rent "All I know is that he owes me about four months of rent. He also had esophageal varices." >ask knapp about varices "Good question. I didn't know what these were either, so I asked the nurse about it. Esophageal varices are abnormal, swollen blood vessels in the esophagus." >ask knapp about drinking "Randall quit drinking after he recovered from depression." >ask knapp about suicide There is no reply. >ask knapp about depression "We were informed that Randall sank into depression after his wife's death.
