You hear a voice coming from the vending machine. >put coin in machine You put the coin in the vending machine, which immediately begins to rumble and vibrate, until from the compartment at the bottom of the unit comes out... Mark M. Etal, the head of the game design course! "Thank you for freeing me!" says the man, grateful. He gives you an affectionate pat on the shoulder and continues: "I hid in there when I saw the aliens coming but then I got stuck and I couldn't come out anymore. Apparently someone wants to take over our planet, but we're gonna show them!" Mark shakes a fist with a threatening face and says again: "Right here at Vigamus Academy we are working on a project involving extraterrestrials. It is a video game that proposes a kind of war of the worlds where the worst are the Martians. I think you can use that as an input to resolve this emergency. First, however, you should go to the presidency, on the first floor, to ask for the necessary permission to shoot freely for the Vigamus Academy and use laboratory facilities." Mark hands you a piece of paper and continues: "Give this form to Professor Raoul Coal, and you will see that you will have no problem with him. I'll stay here and watch the entrance to the building. Luckily we were able to close the gates before it was too late, but I'm afraid a damn robot managed to get in and now he's waiting outside to destroy us with his laser beam." Together with Professor Mark M. Etal, a tar-flavored snack came out from the vending machine. [Your score has just gone up by one point.] >* We need permission to fight back against the death-ray wielding invadars? [Comment recorded.] >* Feels like this is more a moment to ask for forgiveness than permission [Comment recorded.] >x snack On the plastic wrapper it says: "Made in Mordor". >take it Taken. >* huh [Comment recorded.] >open it That's not something you can open. >eat it Are you sure you want to eat a tar-flavored snack? (y/n) >y There was only one way to end up in game over in this adventure and you found it: congratulations! The snack is toxic and you die poisoned among atrocious torments. Surely you could have found a smarter way to escape the alien menace. *** You have died *** In that game you scored 1 out of a possible 20, in 23 turns. Would you like to RESTART, RESTORE a saved game, give the FULL score for that game or QUIT? > undo Lobby [Previous turn undone.] >* Who could have predited! [Comment recorded.] >x mark Mark M. Etal is the head of the game design course hosted by the Vigamus Academy. When the aliens arrived, he managed to hide inside the snack machine but then got stuck. Now that you've freed him, he seems ready to help you end the alien threat. >s Parking lot You are in the parking lot of the Vigamus Academy. To the north is the building that houses the classrooms, laboratories and offices. To the south the avenue leading to the entrance gate. In the corner of the parking lot is Dr Eve Sturgeon's car. The parking lot is guarded by a robot armed to the teeth! It must be an emissary of the aliens who invaded the city. You're unlikely to make it through here unscathed if you can't find a way to get rid of him. >x entrance You can't see any such thing. >x building You can't see any such thing. >x car You can't see inside, since the Doctor Eve Sturgeon's car is closed. " Thank you for finding my little sweetheart!" she exclaims, getting up. She grabs "Emy" and start covering it with kisses. Then she looks at you with gratitude and says: "As for the matter you were telling me about, there is indeed a way to show the game to the aliens. In the closet downstairs there is a projector that would be great for the purpose. (y/n) >y Welcome to the secret section of "Campus Invaders"! I hope you enjoyed saving the university from aliens. As I wrote in the game page on my site, "Campus Invaders" was born in 2016 as a spin-off of "Zigamus" for the round table #ProteoBrains of the Link Campus University of Rome. The event was a success, but for years there was never talk of a release of the adventure on the web, so that everyone could try it. Then, in 2022, we remembered this game finished in the attic and we decided to propose it as a digital gadget of the Vigamus Academy and socio-creative experiment. The original "Campus Invaders" has in fact become "Campus Invaders 1.0" a game open to improvements and additions suggested by players and players. By sending me an email with the password used to enter here, in addition to appearing in the list of those who have finished the adventure successfully, you can propose to add something of your own to the game: an additional challenge for the player, connected to a new room, an object, a character. I will take a few months to evaluate the most interesting proposals and then, perhaps, in 2023 "Campus Invaders 2.0" will see the light. Meanwhile, thanks for playing! >quit Are you sure you want to quit? y
