For as long as I can remember I’ve been writing fiction. It was always at an amateur level but I always enjoyed writing and folk who read my work seemed to enjoy it also.

What’s interesting is, I’d never call myself a writer, instead opting to refer to myself as a story teller. I’m not one of those gifted people who can sit in front of a word processor and write a novel. I’d be bored after chapter three. But my head has always been buzzing with stories.

A few years ago I got into the modding community and I started creating quest mods for games such as Skyrim and Fallout 4. It was while I was coding / writing these quest stories that I realized that this inability to write a long story disappeared.

There is something about adding an interactive element that completely removes my writer’s block. When I felt like I was done with modding I spent quite a long time trying to find my new muse, a new way of telling the stories locked in my head and one day I discovered Quest.

Text Adventures was a type of game I played all through out my childhood in the 90s. I couldn’t get enough of them and the moment I realized I could use this classic medium to get the stories out of my head? it was a no brainer.

So I’ve started creating my Text Adventures using quest 5.8 but it is my intention to move onto other interpreters also.
