“Define ‘incredible amount.’.” requested the dice dragon, whose horde consisted of at least 200 standard 7-piece sets of acrylic and resin dice, probably over 300, possibly even more, along with an assortment of oversized, mini, and unusual dice, including a few sets in metal, gemstone, and wood.
OOC: And yes, I really do own that many dice, my collection has long past the point where I can keep accurate counts of everything in it.
Also, it’s currently 91F according to Alexa and my AC is up to its bad habit of the compressor cutting out when its most needed, and we haven’t even hit the high for today… the good news, today is the hottest day for the week, and the forecast is calling for thunderstorms all week, and as long as the power doesn’t go out and the dog doesn’t go crazy, I much prefer thunderstorms to sunny weather(it might be subjective, but for a given temperature, I’m pretty sure the trailer heats up much more when the sun is beating down than when its raining.
Also, been working on turning the beads leftover from making my rainbow bead mat into a beaded scarf. kept to my plan to mix the leftover beads into Red, orange, yellow, blue-green, and purple-pink mixes and decided on patches for each color mix with rows of 12 beads and 9 rows, which is the closest to square I can make a patch of 108 beads(results in a row width of 72mm versus a column height of 81 mm… got through the ROY, GB, PP, ROY, PP patches as planned, but even after sorting the beads that I collected from the floor, I only had 100 blue and green beads, so I stopped the second GB patch at 96 beads and am torn between accepting that patch will be one row shorter than the others and add the third ROY patch or buy more beads to finish the patch… kind of leaning towards the latter and extending the scarf to 13 patches or maybe even 19.
Also, after finishing the second purple pink patch, I had exactly 42 purple and pink beads leftover, which I made into a small 77*6 patch and formed into a tube by stitching the first and last rows together. I then combined the last 4 blue and green beads and 3 black beads ito a column that fit down the middle of the tube, and in the process of running fishing line through the central column and the outer tube, the tube has turned into six helices around the center. Have a few more rounds of feeding the fishing line up the center column and down a helx before its done, but I quite like the sort of twisted cilinder/hexagonal prism that’s resulted and really want to make another where each helix is a different color or try to figure out a way to make a matching pair that are chiral… I ended up with one that twists clockwise, but there’s no reason I can think of for why anti-clockwise isn’t possible… assuming I don’t have those mixed up(I’m going by the direction the helixes twist as you stare down the center column and move away from the observer. A height of 7 beads makes a cylinder that’s about as tall as the width of my index and middle fingers and about twice as tall as the diameter. feels like a good size for an untapered pendulum bob, though a version that’s 3 beads high might be more appropriate for a pendant.
