I suspect it works better when you weigh more than one ounce and aren’t a fluffy little pastel blue ball.
I assembled my treadmill and even before the rainy season ended, i.e., when it stands to be most useful. But it sounds a little grotty, and I’ve got to learn how to clean/lubricate/adjust the tread before I can really use it.
Figured out how to make my mouse cursor pink!
And had a really nice dinner. Open faced peanut butter (with a drizzle of honey) sandwich and some crunchy, not too sour green grapes afterwards.
I saw the sunrise this morning. And felt strangely at peace.
Played as DM in a short D&D campaign with my friends today. It was a literal retelling of The Little Match Girl 4. It was very fun, very light, although a lot of attempting to shoot everything.
Awhile ago, Pinkz had shared a comic that reminded me of the art style of Pixie and Brutus, and I showed it to him since the two of them remind me of us.
Recently, Manon was re-reading webcomics and mentioned it out of the blue, that it struck her that Pixie and Brutus were like the two of us and sent this picture to demonstrate, which I found really sweet and kind of funny.
It was nice to also hear from him today.
Today was really stressful, but I also had a good time writing with Jinx- I always love it when we do. And I got a lot of lab stuff done in advance, so that’s one less thing to worry about since it’s off of my plate for the rest of the semester.
Me and one of my best friends (in my band) just recorded a 23-and-a-half minute improv song on the spit with a looper pedal and I really like it. (for context, it’s got a good amount of going out of time with the drums accidentally but then we make up for it with a not-really-awesome-at-all climax. But it’s cool if you just want something intense but cool in the background. No singing.) ![]()
We want to create a whole album and we have six songs (and considering one is gonna be 23 minutes raw improv) I think it’s gonna be cool.
Played through gamebook found within Ryan Veeder’s Authentic Fly Fishing. Really enjoyed it!!
The post Railroad and Furnace story came out! I’d totally forgot I was looking forward to it. I have an Emancipatist city, made out of my double, ruled by Furnace, and had also previously confessed feelings towards her, and with my Nemesis ambition completed it was fantastic to see the flavour text there relevant to your spouse’s influence on the city (like living in your rib cage) and how you might take them there and share stories. Also kind of funny Furnace mentions whatever you two have will be necessarily different than a London marriage. Also, ugh, I need to go Irrigo hunting again because I want to see the option of fixing her face maybe??? That took weeks due to the random card draws the first time… But super cool to see more of the story.
YES!
The whole playlist is killer!
We got such a wide range of song from super depresso to hilairous. So many good songs!
Of course, the stringent hand sanitizer and mask wearing has cut down on my nail biting habit* by far- getting involved in filing them smooth and painting them pretty shades of pink has also helped. But sometimes I get the urge to do something with my hands and mouth, and nibbling away at segments of pomelo to flake apart the tiny bursts of sweetness is a really effective way to deal with that, and since it’s a drier food, totally doable while doing other tasks ambiently.
*This was particularly dangerous due to my hemophilia. I used to constantly have fingers that would bleed profusely from little nicks and cuts and scrapes, particularly when stressed- resulting in blood sodden pages and dripping trails.
First weekend after a week of work in the new year ![]()
This weekend I’m going to work more on my IF project, and also clean mold off some secondhand vinyls I bought at the collectors market last month.
I had to order a device to protect the labels while I clean them. The records aren’t worth much, by any means, so it’s a labor of love (or an exercise in futility; it remains to be seen).
for pinkunz: Nurses and interns always keep multiple pens in the pocket, like Chinese intellectuals… not that are pen-kleptomaniacs, but they too often assume that a pen not in a pocket isn’t of the patient…
Best regards from Italy,

Recently I had to get my hair cut- which is viscerally upsetting. It’s gone from the small of my back to just about touching past my shoulders or the nape of my neck, and it’s still in that weird slightly-too-new stage where the weight is disorienting and so is adjusting to the new dry time. On the bright side, I can just barely draw it back into a bun, which is my usual hairstyle, and that’s pretty comforting. Plus it makes my scrunchies a more obvious part of the outfit. It doesn’t look half bad with the sort of soft waves I usually wake up with- the layering and feathering make it more apparent. And it’s fast to brush… The fluffy bedhead is kind of funny.
Last summer I got really, really sick of the baby hairs on the back of my neck sticking to all the sweat from the extreme heat, and I had Tom shave the back of my head. And it’s great. I don’t know why I put up with it all those years. Now all my hair goes into the topknot I favor without all the little flyaway strands. So I think I’ll keep it that way.
