Unicode in inform7

does inform 7 understand unicode? I am working on my story description for release and would like to have it borken up, not just one big lump of words?

[unicode ####]

Or if you want to break up descriptions, use [line break] for one line or [paragraph break] for two.

thank you

For input, it can handle characters from Basic Latin and Latin-1 Supplement (i.e. anything below U+00FF except control characters).

For output, it can handle anything from the Basic Multilingual Plane (i.e. anything below U+FFFF).

The next version, when it’s released, will be able to handle the full extent of Unicode, in both input and output.

(At least for Glulx. Z-machine has its own built-in limitations and Inform can’t do anything about those.)

In fact the full range of Unicode will work for both input and output. There will be no BMP limitation.

Oh, excellent! That’s even better. Let me update my comment.

sorry to be such a pain, but i can’t find line break code.it’ s not a game breaker but just would like about this game description to allow line breaks though. it my be because i use Glulxe.

Ah, for that, just use [line break] or [paragraph break].

does nothing for me. anyway thank you. I can get descript to show but it show [line break]

Oh, sorry, this is for the story description? Yeah, that uses some special rules.

Just hit enter twice. A literal paragraph break.

Thank you my friend
