Both The Little Four and My creation include excerpts from published books! The Little Four from (naturally) The Big Four by Agatha Christie and My creation from Frankenstein.
And Anne of Green Cables, of course
Fired features a trenchcoat as well.
“Detritus” and “Hobbiton Recall”… feature point-sprite starfields, heh.
Found another game with a lighter: By All Reasonable Knowledge. That makes four five so far (including Frankenfingers, as reported by Rovarsson)… a pretty good contender for this year’s clawfoot bathtub.
Both Who Whacked Jimmy Pinata and The Kidnapping of a Tokyo Game Developer have climactic chases where you go circling around until you figure what to do. Each provides humor in a different way.

The one-way circle was admittedly a lazy way to reduce the number of links I needed to put in and test. In a similar act of laziness, the underground maze isn’t really a maze — it’s totally linear and is just meant to increase your step count.
I’ll have to see what Jimmy Pinata is like ![]()
I just started INPUT PROCESS and it immediately involves a lighter! (Not an item as such though.)
According to @aschultz’s review of Mr. Beaver, both it and my own entry use water fixtures as a surreal means of transport.
Not quite the same water fixture though.

It’s not really the water fixture, its a… ahhhhh… spoiler alert. ![]()
Also Temptation in the Village! (Though it is based on a fragment unpublished during the author’s lifetime.)
I haven’t had a chance to play *OVER* yet, but it looks like a promising candidate for the lighter-list based on its cover art!
In both “Warrior Poet of Mourdrascus“ and “Penthesileia“ the
prefects come off as despicable.
So you’re saying the prefect is the enemy of the good?
N-no… Anyway… Has anyone ever told you how handsome you are?

Oh, hey… my entry The Secrets of Sylvan Gardens actually has something like that, too! What are the odds? ![]()
Oh my God, what are the odds?! That’s uncanny!
There’s an ineffectual bathroom hand-dryer in both Who Whacked Jimmy Piñata? and Visit to the Human Resources Administration.
Both Lady Thalia and the Case of Clephan and A Smörgåsbord of Pain feature a major character throwing a large object through a window and using the hole to escape.
There’s an actual clawfoot bathtub in The Little Four!
