mathbrush posted a review on IFDB for a game called Lux, City of Secrets, the title of which I noticed is made up of the titles of two other games. Someone asked me if there are any other combinations like that, so I took a look and found:
However, if you allow the link to be just a space instead of including a comma, I found 180 instances of existing game titles that can be created by combining two other titles. How many can you guess? (Note that capitalization is ignored.)
Bonus fun: Another 56 examples exist where the third title is directly combining the first and second, with no intervening characters.
I just used pure titles, disregarding duplicates, so Dungeon and Adventure and Dungeon Adventure is one example in my count, despite the listings for multiple games with each of those titles. Note that punctuation was considered to be significant, so Dragon is treated as different from Dragon!.
Generic titles do make up a sizable chunk of the list of 180.
I’ll post the list of 56 when we’re done here, but about a quarter of them are trivial, e.g. Zork I and I and Zork II.
There’s the recently discovered/ported SchoolAdventure, and there’s at least one game called School.There’s also at least one game called School Adventure.
