Yay, excited to dig in – there are some games on the list I’m almost certain I’ll enjoy, and others that I have no expectations for but that I’ll wind up enjoying even more. Thanks to all the authors and organizers!

Thanks for all the work. I know it must be hard to put on a competition like this every year.

But I noticed there are no Sci-Fi parser games in this year’s competition. I guess the time for the obligatory crash-landing on a planet and finding your way off is over.

Since this post is currently pinned to the IFComp category and the posts below aren’t, I’ll link them for convenience:

Nobody has made a post compiling individual discussion threads for IFComp 2026 games yet, probably since there’s just a few at the moment. I’m not sure if I should do it since I won’t have time to update it quickly. It could potentially be a wiki post if others feel the need.

Edit: Here’s a list of individual discussion threads since I can’t find one. Tell me if I miss anything.

Hi, I noticed this line on the compo page:

We are preparing the giant zipfile containing all the games. When it is ready, the link to it will appear here.

Are there still plans for this or should I just download individual entries now?

(Sorry, haven’t do judging for 10+ years now, so this is kinda new to me.)

The big zip file is available on the IF Archive: Index: if-archive/games/competition2026

It seems the text on the IF comp website just hasn’t been updated to reflect this.
