The artwork in Marbles, D, and the Sinister Spotlight was stripped out and replaced with slop. It’s so disrespectful.
I’m divided on messaging Cloudflare myself, as I’m not sure I’d be adequately diplomatic.

Ironically, games on this site only work in Chrome, because the site is using an experimental Chrome API. (I default to Firefox, which is why I thought at first that the games weren’t playable.) I wondered why this site existed, and I found what seems to be a good reason:

The site is sending back complete transcripts of all user input. Someone’s probably using this as an AI training tool.
Edit: Given the token cost of running a thing like this, I assume it was put up by one of the AI companies.

It’s an awful intersection of parasitic sites that exist to do nothing but copy games from more official distribution sites and host them on their own ad-ridden webpages, and AI-generated sites full of bizarre miscellany that are also often riddled with ads. For examples of the first (but use your adblocker), see this site and its many cousins. For examples of the second, see the tidal wave of scammy ad-riddled sites providing a “database” of ICD (diagnosis) codes, sometimes complete with horrid AI-generated explanations and images. Which can lead to hilarity when it comes to the more bizarre ICD diagnoses like “burn due to waterskis on fire”, “struck by turkey” or “unspecified spacecraft accident”. Remember to use an adblocker, or turn off Javascript on mobile, if you look at any of these sites.
Could also just be a pet project/resume booster made by some random rich vibecoder. It seems like we’ve had no shortage of programmers and/or would-be venture capitalists who come here feeling like it’s a great idea to start making LLM games, or LLM versions of IF games, and getting torn up about it when their great idea isn’t received with open arms. Though without sending messages or legal injunctions to the website owner and getting a response, we may never know.

Lol a friend just alerted me to this by sending a screenshot of this mess playing I Am Prey.
Cackling at how pathetic this is. It’s latching onto “Predator” SO HARD, and also is not representing the player character as the same species as the opponent.
And that’s just the start of the list of problems.
Some data center out there really is screaming to render this trash, huh? Again: pathetic.
I’m stuck on mobile due to skeletal issues. Does anyone know if this thing even handles the difficulty selection menu, or lets you use PEEK at all? Or MAP? Like, if it’s assuming the verb list, then the player is so screwed if this is how they discover my game lmao.
Wildly tone-deaf. Got me cackling for a good 20 minutes. Doesn’t absolve the machine or potential human who caused this, though!

I’m so glad my stuff isn’t popular enough to get on this list. The AI seems to hallucinate half of the things in the images and it’s truly ridiculous that this is allowed…

It handles all these things, more or less. Every time you toggle map view, it draws a new image for your environment. However, and this isn’t limited to your game, the way it works for all games is to scroll each new element of content – including new text, generated images, and the input field – so everything scrolls up out of view with every input. It’s pretty poor UX.
