Spring Thing '22 ribbon nominations are now open!

Players can now nominate entries in this year’s Spring Thing for ribbons. There are two kinds of ribbons:

  • “Best In Show” ribbons, for Main Festival entrants only, will be awarded to the two games with the most nominations overall.
  • “Audience Award” ribbons, for any festival games, are suggested by nominators and can be anything they like: “Best Story,” “Best Parser Game,” “Personal Favorite,” “Alumni’s Choice,” “Cutest Vampires”… you get the idea.

Ribbon nominations are open to anyone, although we respectfully request that you:

  • Play at least two games before making any nominations
  • Only make nominations once per festival year (although it’s easy to update/amend your ballot)

Players may nominate games up until 11:59PM EST on May 10th at the nomination page on the festival site. The festival games are available here.

May we nominate games we beta tested, either for Best in Show or for ribbons? Or is this frowned upon?

Yes, that’s fine!

Is this a mistake, or am I just confused? Admittedly I would like it if spring in its entirety was a holiday.

And autumn too of course…

Huh, do they not celebrate Thingsgiving where you live?

OK, I have a bunch to give.

Oh, that’s confusing. Thanksgiving over here is usually seen as more of a Fall/Autumn celebration, so I’d fail the captcha if prompted with Spring, haha.

Oh, sorry! I was actually just making a very dumb joke (Thingsgiving, since it said it was from the name of the festival…) that I realized works better said aloud than read.

Sorry, should probably say “season” not “holiday.” On a plane today but will fix tonight.

Spring, fall, and autumn should all be accepted

I chuckled, if it’s any consolation.

Unfortunately this is too long for an actual ribbon, but I award The “Marmots-Sagan Most Anagrams” Award to @aschultz. (If you have used this in one of your games…I guess I owe you royalties.)

Just a bump to remind folks that ribbon nominations are due May 10th, so you’ve got one more week to get them in! Show your favorite games some love with votes for Best In Show (you can nominate multiple games if you like) and custom Audience Awards. More details at the top of the thread, or on the nominations page:
