I made an offline, parser based text adventure game for PC Windows (XP and above - 32/64bit) in the classic style. Written and coded in TAB for Windows. “The Abbey of the Hidden Rose”. If interested PM for itch url and password.

Catventure.

(I’ll send you a PM about playtesting. Having just released a parse game about roses and an abbey and prominently featuring a cat, I’m pretty much obligated
)
Curious: What’s TAB? Is it The tab programming language. ?
Is this for TALJ? I can’t help since I run Linux, but hidden things in abbeys are always fun!
IIRC, @catventure is the author and maintainer of ThinBASIC Adventure Builder.

Thanks, @BadParser . Googling “programming language tab” mostly resulted in people arguing about emacs settings. ![]()
Ah, the nostalgia… CAT was one of the first IF languages I tried to learn.
Even if I had to learn an alt-code for a character that was completely foreign to me.
I remember trying to write a horror-type game with red text on black background. I remember it looked so cool, even if it was a bit hard to read. Ah, if I could only go back in time and slap my former self so hard for thinking “cool” trumps “accessibility”.
Hi Giger_Kitty,
Thanks for the memories. Hope you can check it out when released. ![]()
