Since Frotz was created from ZIP, the version number (2.01) as initial build actually does make some sense.

Back in the day I did an Amiga port of Frotz, and the release history notes I have for that show that the first version was based on Frotz 1.01. I don’t have any source code for that, though.

I found those on Aminet. Unfortunately the sources weren’t there.

The FrotzCE sources seems to have version 2.22.

Also found a 2.01 release for Nextstep, unfortnately binary only as well…
