"return from menu passages" handling for Sugarcube2

Twine Version: Sugarcube: 2.36
I’m trying to set up combat encounter system that once finished puts the player back into the world, I’m also trying to set up an inventory/menu system. Both of these need the functionality of being able to save the location of the player before entering and placing the back in their original location.
I was looking at a guide to doing it in Harlowe and some of the ideas like ignoring all the passages with a tag make sense to apply to sugarcube as well, but I’m very new to this and don’t know how to implement this in sugarcube.

You can look at the arbitrarily long return from the Sugarcube docs, which does exactly what you describe.
